I should really spend some time organizing my iTunes, because I know I have good stuff in there somewhere. I love that dog. and Petra Haden, and, of course, I love Paula Abdul. Hers was the first concert I ever went to. Color Me Badd opened. I actually listened to all of them… except Momus, because I always feel like I have to be in the mood or otherwise prepared. I'm currently listening to a compilation called "Guilt By Association" that features great indie artists covering songs they're embarrassed to love (Petra Haden acapella-ing "Don't Stop Believin'", Devendra Banhart on "Don't Look Back in Anger", "Back for Good" by the Concretes, "Straight Up" being done much more ably by Luna than by Paula Abdul) I would offer that Saturday Looks Good to Me has a couple of very essential albums in the same vein as Canasta and Scotland Yard Gospel Choir (start with the album All Your Summer Songs) You can't go wrong with the Doves oh yeah, and I gave you a bunch of albums to try -- did you listen to those? Guess I'll have to make another mix... suggestions…
